Prevention: Strategies to reduce stigma for mental, physical and financial health


Stigma may be interfering with your organization's success and bottom line. It is a factor not only for individuals with mental illness, but also for employees who face financial difficulties. We know stigma prevents employees from seeking help and taking action. It affects physical and mental well-being, diminishes productivity and leads to absenteeism. But we don't always know what to do or what works best.

In this webinar, we will teach strategies to fight against stigma and preserve the productivity of your workplace. In turn, this may help, positively impact the mental and physical health of your employees.

Our speakers:
Jessy Alam - Mental Health Specialist

In her role as mental health specialist with Group Disability Benefits, Jessy is responsible for guiding the management of mental health claims according with best-practice principles. Jessy also works closely with clients to support the effectiveness of disability management initiatives and focuses primarily on workplace mental health.

Jessy has a Masters of Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto. She is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario and has worked in the field of mental health for over 10 years.

Lindsay Bell - Senior Health Management Consultant

Lindsay’s passion is organizational health and employee engagement and she has worked within various sectors performing workplace wellness consultation and human resource functions. As a Senior Health Management Consultant, Lindsay works closely in assisting clients develop a wellness strategy that aligns with each organization's needs.

Lindsay has her Honours Bachelor of Arts Psychology Degree and her Post-graduate Certificate in Workplace Wellness and Health Promotion. She is also an active member of the Ontario Workplace Health Coalition Board of Directors
